Beautiful patterns for hand embroidery and quilting
The animals are lining up to board the Ark! This whimsical 12 month BOM of the ark and it’s sometimes silly animals, all comes together in an enchanting 66 1/2” x 78 1/2” quilt. We’ll start with the large Ark block, and then move on to months where there will be 1 to 3 blocks given in one pattern, ending with the quilt assembly pattern. Most of the embroidery floss colors needed for the entire quilt are used in the Ark block, with a few more being added later. Here is a full list of Cosmo embroidery floss, Prismacolor Premier colored pencils, and fabric amounts used so you can get a jump on getting your supplies ready! The embroidery on all of these blocks would be very easy for a confident beginner. The piecing in the quilt is the same… easy, but impressive looking! Instructions for cutting all of the embroidered blocks are given in the first pattern, The Ark, so you can have all of your stitching fabric ready to go! I used Moda Warm White muslin for both my stitching background fabric, and my muslin backing - 3 3/4 yd of each (7 1/2 yards in all.)
The bears look bored, and if they don't get on the ark soon, I worry that the ducks will be a pre-voyage snack! The llamas on the other hand, are ready for the cruise (They were told the rabbits were forming a band and there'd be live music on board… well… THAT explains why there are so many of them! It all makes sense now!)
Llamas stitchery measures approximately 11 1/2” x 5 1/2”, block finishes 12" x 6"Bears stitchery measures approximately 10 1/2” x 4 1/2”, block finishes 12" x 6"
